MINI and boutique audio maker sonoro audio road tripped to Paris together for the Maison et Objet trade show, on September 3rd. True to form – it was, after all, Paris – the duo arrived in style, displaying their shared passion for design and minimalism. In an interview with Barbara Haase, Head of MINI Brand Communications, she explains how the pair channeled MINI’s “Creative Use of Space” to create the new LTD-Edition MINI rocks sonoro Elements W Internet Radio.
What do MINI and sonoro have in common and what’s the partnership all about?
MINI and sonoro are both brands with a keen eye for cutting-edge design, both known for state-of-the-art minimalism. In the spirit of MINI’s “creative use of space” philosophy, sonoro integrates powerful features in the smallest space possible. This high quality, high-performance approach makes sonoro the perfect partner for MINI.
What did MINI designers contribute to the project?
MINI contributed the best elements of its classic design sensibility: branding with the iconic MINI logo as metal decal on the iPod eDock and case, along with trademark sport stripes on the top and on the bottom of the radio. The brand new Eclipse Grey metallic lacquer gives the MINI rocks sonoro elements W a clean, designer finish. To make sure that you’ve always got something cool to listen to, we integrated the four MINI Sounds webradio channels from MINIspace.com, which come as presets for the MINI rocks sonoro Elements W.
